Overview
Renal angiomyolipoma is a noncancerous kidney tumor made up of blood vessels, smooth muscle, and fatty tissue. Many angiomyolipomas are discovered during imaging for unrelated reasons because they often cause no symptoms when small. However, as the tumor grows, it can increase the risk of pain and spontaneous bleeding. Although typically benign, larger angiomyolipomas require careful evaluation to reduce the risk of complications. Symptoms of Renal Angiomyolipoma
Many renal angiomyolipomas do not cause symptoms and are discovered during imaging for another condition. However, as the tumor grows or begins to bleed, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
